According to Android Headlines, the newly launched CAD renders show almost identical design to Pixel 9, last year with only minor modifications.
How’s Pixel 10?
The renditions suggest that Google sticks with the same kernel design language introduced with the Pixel 9 series, including flat edges and the distinctive raised camera bar. This continuity follows Google’s tendency to make iterative changes rather than radical changes. The absence of major design changes could mean that Google trusts its current aesthetic, or simply choose to refine rather than revolutionize.
A small but remarkable change is the replacement of the SIM card slot, which moved from the bottom of the device up. This change leaves room for additional speaker cutting, which could improve audio performance. The dimensions of the device also experienced a slight change, which now measures 152.8 x 72 x 8.6 mm, much thicker than its predecessor. The camera bumper extends by 3.4 mm, bringing the total thickness to 12 mm.
Will Pixel 10 be a camera?
One of the most intriguing rumours surrounding Pixel 10 is the possible addition of a telephoto camera to the basic model. Historically, Google has reserved telephoto lenses for its Pro models, differentiating them from standard versions. However, filtered renders from OnLeaks and Android Headlines suggest that this distinction may be changing.
Visible in filtered images, the Pixel 10 camera module now includes a third target, which leads some to speculate that Google provides periscope zoom capabilities at its lower level headlight. What about Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL?
With the Pixel 10 base, renderings also appeared for the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL. According to Android Headlines, these models will retain the same design language and dimensions as their predecessors. The Pixel 10 Pro measures 152.8 x 72 x 8.6 mm, while the Pro XL measures 162.7 x 76.6 x 8.5 mm, making it only 0.1 mm shorter than last year’s Pixel 9 Pro XL.
The continuous similarity in size suggests that Google is unlikely to change screen dimensions or battery capabilities significantly. However, Google may be able to introduce new materials or reduce hardware optimization to improve durability and performance.
Will you launch the Pixel 10 with Android 16?
Last year, Google changed its launch time line, publishing the Pixel 9 series in August – two months ahead of previous schedules. This movement meant that the Pixel 9 released with Android 14, although Android 15 was completed shortly afterwards.
According to the reports, Pixel 10 is expected to follow a similar schedule, beginning in August 2025. This time, however, it will be sent with Android 16, that Google plans to complete the operating system by June. The previous output window also aligns with the expected release of the 9th Pixel, Google’s average offer.
