7 March, 2025 – Fans of the remote and criminalized streets of Old Detroit are found for another adrenaline-filled walk as developer Teyon officially announces RoboCop: City of Rogue - Uncompleted business. This independent extension to the RoboCop of 2023: Rogue City, the first beneficiary, will be launched this summer on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. This new chapter is based on the intense and methodical struggle of its predecessor by introducing new enemies, weapons and a story that leads to the deepest players in the world RoboCop.
What is RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business About?
Located between the events of RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3, the expansion follows the cyber-law enforcement as it fights a new wave of crime within the OmniTower, a massive OCP housing complex. Once the functional skyscrapers fell into the hands of a group of mercenaries armed with high-tech weapons, posing a direct threat to the citizens of the old Detroit. According to Polygon, players must navigate RoboCop through the structure of the fortress, eliminating floor-to-floor threats, in what you feel like action classics like Dredd and The Raid.
New enemies and reinforced combat
The suite presents a new list of enemies, making combat encounters even more intense. According to PCGamesN, players will face flying drones, anti-personnel turrets, heavily armed elite soldiers, and even cyborgs that turn into katana. In particular, the famous ED-209 is back, ensuring that even experienced RoboCop veterans will be tested. The expansion also adds new weapons, such as the Cryo Cannon, which allows RoboCop to freeze the enemies in place before destroying them with a well-positioned shot.
Play like Alex Murphy – A first in the franchise
One of the most interesting additions to Unfinished Business is the opportunity to enter Alex Murphy’s shoes before becoming RoboCop. This is the first time in the franchise where players will live missions like human police, explore their past and participate in key moments that add depth to their transformation. As Eurogamer said, these missions will bring family faces back to the fold and provide a better understanding of Murphy’s journey from man to machine.
First person shooting with a unique Twist
While many FPS titles focus on fast and tactical movements based on coverage, RoboCop: Rogue City takes a different approach. According to Dark Horizon, the game covers a meteoric style of brute force play, where RoboCop slowly but relentlessly pushes forward, eliminating bullets while delivering devastating attacks. Players who like to feel like a ruthless force of justice will find fighting mechanics extremely satisfactory.
Independent Expansion - Do you need the original game?
Unlike traditional DLC requiring a basic game, Unfinished Business is an independent follow-up. This means that new players can jump directly into the action without having RoboCop: Rogue City. However, for those who lost the original, it is currently available for a reduced price of $9.99, which makes a great time to catch up with the previous RoboCop mission.
With a 2025 launch on the horizon, fans won’t have to wait long to see RoboCop in action. If you’re a franchise fan or a newcomer looking for a new FPS experience, RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business promises an adventure full of explosive action, an attractive story and a deeper exploration of Alex Murphy’s past.
