NEW YORK, March 6, 2025 – The hippe around the Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) continues to climb in anticipation of an unprecedented price for the much anticipated game. Although Rockstar Games has not yet launched a second trailer, industry experts believe that the game could cost at least $100, marking a significant release of traditional pricing strategies.
Could GTA 6 be the first $100 standard game?
According to a research note by Wedbush Securities, industry analysts – including Michael Pachter, Alicia Reese and Kade Barr – believe that Take-Two Interactive, the game editor, can create a new precedent for GTA 6 in an “unknown price point”. To compensate for the cost, the company could pack the game piece for GTA Online, providing additional value to players.
This proposal raises a fundamental question: Will players be willing to spend $100 in advance? The gaming industry has already seen a change from $60 to $70 for standard editions, but a $100 price could redefine consumer expectations.
How would a profit player be $100 GTA 6?
Although the idea of a more expensive game may seem controversial, Pachter and his colleagues suggest that players could receive substantial rewards in the game in exchange for the highest prize. These awards could include:
- A large amount of in-game currency for GTA Online
- Early access to downloadable content (DLC)
- Exclusive in-game items or missions
As Wedbush Securities said, Take-Two could use GTA Online as a revenue driver, as did activism to increase premium sales. Analysts argue that such an approach could make the $100 price tag more enjoyable for consumers.
What about GTA Online?
Another uncertainty around GTA 6 is the fate of GTA Online. General Manager Take-Deux Strauss Zelnick previously suggested that GTA Online could remain active after the launch of GTA 6, referring to it as a “delegated title”. However, it is not clear whether Rockstar will integrate GTA Online into GTA 6 or retain them as separate entities.
Currently, GTA Online V mode remains one of Take-Two’s most lucrative assets. According to the company’s latest financial reports, GTA Online has generated more than $9.54 billion in revenue since its launch. Given this situation, the company may be harassed to leave a cow in proven cash.
Analysts Plan AWG 6 Sales will be recalled – Breaking
Despite price concerns, market analysts remain optimistic about the success of GTA 6. DFC Intelligence anticipates that the game could sell 40 million copies in its first year, which could generate $3.2 billion in revenues for Take- Two.
The version of the game should coincide with the release of Nintendo Switch 2, which could increase sales across the industry. As Circana pointed out, the combined impact of these large versions could help the video game market recover after a period of stagnation.
Could GTA 6 be delayed?
Although Take-Two confirmed a fall 2025 release for GTA 6, delays remain a possibility. In a recent call for profits, Zelnick assured investors that the game is on its way, but acknowledged that unforeseen challenges could arise.
According to industry experts, Rockstar usually reports a release in October or November for its flagship titles. However, Pachter speculates that GTA 6 could follow a Halloween release (31 October), similar to previous entries such as GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas.
GTA Record 6 Hip Traction
Since its initial announcement, GTA 6 has destroyed records. The first trailer of the game, released in December 2023, amassed 93 million views in 24 hours, making it the most viewed video game trailer in history.
The game is established in the fictional state of Leonida, strongly inspired by Florida, and will have a dynamic open world with places like Vice City and Vice Beach. According to Rockstar, GTA 6 represents “the most important and immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series”
Initially, the game will be released exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC version is expected later, probably in 2026.
With Rockstar Games celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, fans are looking forward to further updates. Many think that a second trailer could soon come out, offering additional details on the game and history.
As anticipation is built, there is a question: Are players willing to pay $100 for the GTA 6? If Take-Two successfully justifies the value added prize, it could change how blockbuster games are priced in the future.
